Admission to any residency teacher-preparation program requires that you pass the WEST-B (Washington Educator Skills Test-Basic).

For information and to register for the WEST-B, go to www.west.nesinc.com.

To obtain an endorsement in the state of Washington, all applicants must pass the WEST-E test for core/content knowledge for that subject area.

NOTE: *Designated World Language endorsements require passing the WEST-E test and both ACTFL proficiency tests for the specific language. For information and to register for the ACTFL tests for Spanish, French or German, go to: https://www.languagetesting.com/acad_wa1.cfm.
Whitworth will provide a proctor for current education students. Contact Cathy Stephens at 509.777.4405 for information.

For information and to register for the WEST-E, go to www.west.nesinc.com.

NOTE: When registering for a WEST-E test, please do the following:

  • List your name as it is listed at Whitworth (e.g., if Whitworth lists you as Jonathan, register for the test using Jonathan, not Jon).
  • Select Whitworth as a score recipient, using score recipient code 253.
