Dr. Sharon H. Mowry is Associate Professor
of Education and Chair of the Department of Graduate Studies in Education.
Dr. Mowry was a public school teacher and principal in Oregon, Idaho,
California and Washington states. She was Assistant Superintendent for
Curriculum and Instruction for ten years prior to coming to Whitworth
in July of 2000. During that time, she served as an adjunct
professor for Gonzaga University. Dr. Mowry has presented at many regional,
state and national conferences in areas of Character Education, Parent
Involvement, Performance Assessment, Strategic Planning and School Reform.
She is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development
(ASCD) and Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA). She
served as conference chair for Washington State Association for Supervision
and Curriculum Development (WSASCD) statewide conference in 1998. Her
duties at Whitworth include oversight of the graduate programs for school
administrators, school and agency counselors, general administration,
elementary and secondary master's programs with emphases in special
education and gifted education.
