News for Students in Whitworth's Special-Education Programs

Practicum and advanced practicum in special education require an application and philosophy of special education statement to be reviewed and approved for placement. An advanced practicum also requires that an evaluation of the candidate's essential character attributes be completed by a special-education advisor or a special-education instructor.

Jean Hollar must have completed applications by Dec. 1 in order to place students for either Jan Term 2006 or Spring Term 2006. Students majoring, minoring, or completing endorsements in special education should visit with Betty Williams during November to develop a "life plan" for the student's special-education program.

Betty Williams will be on sabbatical from January-August 2006. This means that only ONE section of EDU 321EDS521, Intervention for Behavior and Motivation (the 4-5:30 p.m. section), will be offered in spring 2006 and that the class will NOT be offered during summer 2006, as it usually is.
