For more than 60 years, Whitworth has served public and private elementary and
secondary schools through its Graduate Studies in Education (GSE) programs.
Many local and national teachers, counselors, principals and other
administrators have pursued graduate degrees at Whitworth, increasing their
effectiveness with students in communities near and far.
Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree programs are available in school
administration, community-agency and school counseling, administrative
leadership, and elementary and secondary education. Master of arts in teaching
(M.A.T.) degree programs are available in special education and gifted and
talented education. A master of arts (M.A.) degree that requires the completion
of a thesis is available for candidates in agency counseling or administrative
leadership.
School principal and school counselor certificate programs, as well as the
professional teacher certificate, are also available through the Whitworth
Graduate Studies Department.
