Through the Center for Gifted Education & Professional Development, Whitworth demonstrates its commitment to leadership in meeting the needs of education professionals.  As the only university in Washington offering the Specialty Endorsement in Teaching the Gifted, Whitworth provides teachers of gifted and talented students with cutting-edge training for immediate use in the classroom.

Online programs include a master of arts degree and a specialty endorsement. Both programs focus not just on teaching highly capable students, but on helping all students succeed in an integrated classroom. Candidates also have the option to complete both the master’s degree and the specialty endorsement at the same time. In addition, Whitworth’s Summer Institute for Professional Development offers a variety of short courses and seminars on the latest trends and research in education .
