| Master in Teaching: Faculty |
The MIT faculty is a diverse group, drawn both
from the School of Education and the educational community of eastern
Washington State. The core faculty members are:

Cherry, Ph.D. |

Director, Master in Teaching Program, Professor of Education.
In addition to directing the program, Dr. Cherry teaches MIT foundation
courses, supervises MIT student teachers, leads seminar courses
in the Spring term, as well as a secondary seminar course.

| O.J.
Cotes, M.Ed. |
|
Visiting Professor of Education. Professor Cotes coordinates
the MIT secondary program, teaches the general secondary methods
and critical issues courses, and supervises MIT secondary student
teachers. She is also involved with several diversity initiatives
with the School of Education.

| Peggy
Johnsen |
|
Teacher in Residence. Professor Johnsen coordinates the MIT elementary
program, teaches literacy/reading and general elementary methods,
and supervises MIT elementary student teachers. She also serves
as a resource teacher for the School of Education in a variety
of different curricular areas.

| Barbara
Sanders, Ed.D. |
|
Associate Professor of Education. Dr. Sanders is the Assessment
Director for the School of Education and teaches the educational
research courses.
|
| Gordon
Watanabe, Ed.D. |
|
Professor of Education. Dr. Watanabe teaches educational psychology
and multicultural education, and supervises elementary student
teachers for the MIT program.
