Mentors' Top Ten Tips
- Remember that you were a student teacher once.
- We're all life-long learners.
- Be an advocate not another concern.
- Be specific and never assume. You may have to repeat it later.
- Don't forget the child, the person among the EALR's.
- Sense when to let go. Give an opportunity to develop.
- Include MIT as a colleague/partner.
- Don't let something go- address problems and concerns diplomatically.
- Embrace the "hats." ("Three roles of mentoring")
