Undergraduate Teacher Education: Faculty

The Whitworth School of Education has, as its greatest resource, an exceptional faculty. This diverse group is dedicated to the concept of teaching as a calling. From the classroom to field supervision to leadership in higher education, our faculty stands out. The Faculty:

Lisa Laurier, Ed.D.

Assistant Professor of Education Lisa Laurier teaches undergraduate and graduate reading and literacy courses. She also serves as the director of the Whitworth Writing Rally.


Randall Michaelis, Ph.D.

Chair of the Whitworth Teacher Education Department and Professor of Education Randall Michaelis teaches Educational Technology and foundation courses.


Barbara Sanders, Ed.D.

Assistant Professor of Education Barbara Sanders teaches Undergraduate Secondary Methods and is dean of instruction for Whitworth Academic Affairs.


Dennis Sterner, Ed.D.

Dean of the School of Education and Professor of Education Dennis Sterner teaches Secondary Student Teaching Block.


Ann Teberg, Ed.D,

Associate Professor of Education and Director of Student Teaching Ann Teberg teaches undergraduate methods courses in how to teach reading; she also teaches senior seminar classes.


Betty Fry Williams, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Education Betty Williams is coordinator of the Whitworth Special Education Program.
