The Whitworth Department of Teacher Education views the role of the teacher as a calling, a commitment to understanding and responding compassionately to the needs of children and youth. All undergraduate students document their positive impact on student academic achievement as they fulfill their student-teaching experiences, preparing them to enter the public and private school arenas as fully qualified professionals. Teacher candidates learn the importance and skills of collaboration with peers as they design lessons, analyze student data, and plan for each child's success.
