Whitworth Presents Second Lecture of Annual Great Decisions Lecture Series

The 45th annual Great Decisions lecture series at Whitworth University features five speakers who focus on political, cultural and economic subjects of interest to the international community. The program explores issues Americans can expect to deal with in the new millennium.

The second lecture of the series will feature Rand Lewis, director of the Martin Institute for Conflict Resolution at the University of Idaho, who will discuss Russian and American relations. The lecture will take place Thursday, February 21, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Music Building Recital Hall at Whitworth University. The lecture is free and open to the public. Lewis has extensive experience in international negotiations. He served as an engineer and as a foreign-area officer during a lengthy military career. Lewis currently teaches history courses at the University of Idaho, including a course on international terrorism. He also provides counter- and anti-terrorism consulting services to the military and to the U.S. State Department. Lewis is the author of The Neo-Nazis and German Unification (1996) and A Nazi Legacy (1991).
