Whitworth Senior is New NWATA President

David Howell, a senior athletic training student at Whitworth University has been selected as the 2007-08 student president for the Northwest Athletic Trainers Association.  Howell applied for the position in order to develop his skills as a leader. “We are the future of the profession," he says, "and without students intentionally developing leadership skills now, we will not have the experience to help the profession grow in the way that it should.”  Howell goes on to say that he would like to help students become more familiar with our district and national organization.  “We need to understand how important our governing organizations are for us, both now and in the future, as we become professionals,” he says.  Howell, who hails from Bothell, Wash., plans after graduation to pursue a master’s degree or possibly an internship with a professional team.
