Whitworth University Kinesiology & Athletics

The Whitworth Department of Kinesiology & Athletics offers two majors and provides both a theoretical and practical educational experience for future teachers, coaches and athletic trainers.

The kinesiology major provides two distinct tracks. A teaching track prepares students to teach/coach in public or private schools, while a non-teaching track prepares students for health, fitness and physical-education-related career opportunities. Students in the teaching track also meet one of the education certifications (elementary, K-8 or secondary certification).
