Latin American Studies Program

The Latin American Studies Program (LASP) is a semester-long program that runs every fall and spring. Students will live, learn, and engage with Costa Rican families throughout the course of this program. During their time here, students also travel to Nicaragua to gain a deeper understanding of the history and culture of other parts of Central America. Additional trips will be made throughout Costa Rica, providing students with the opportunity to engage in experiential learning.
  • Courses:
    • Spanish 101, 201, 301 (Fall) and 102, 202, 302 (Spring) and a variety of 400 level Spanish courses each semester
    • Core 350
    • Biology 196 Conservation & Human Rights
    • IDS 301 Introduction to Latin American Studies
    • Possibilities for internships
