Program Detail - Oral French Abroad
Study French by immersing yourself in wonderful French-speaking cultures of the world. Students will travel to one of the following destinations: France, Guadeloupe, Quebec (May 2014). Québec’s motto is Je me souviens – I remember – and here you will form your own wonderful memories. You will have the opportunity to take French language courses at your personalized level in an immersion environment; to have a homestay and two meals a day with French-speaking Québecois families; to participate in a volunteer service-learning program in Québec city with other French-speaking Québecois volunteers; to learn about French-Canadian culture, history, and politics; to explore the only North American fortified city north of Mexico; to go to museums and festivals, and to experience how French-speaking culture has developed outside of France. You’ll learn about how France has shaped Canadian language, religion, and history, and what kind of impression Canada has made in return. It’s all waiting for you in Québec, in May 2014!
