| CS/Math in a Cultural Context - India |

| This study program provides the opportunity to explore facets of CS in Indian society. The course includes common scientific and technical interests of CS/Math students. Students will participate in seminar exchanges at universities and will visit industries. They will reflect on research advances, on roles technology plays Indian society compared with US, and on ethical issues having local and global impact. Cultural exchange will occur in CS activities, church fellowship, dorm stays, village home stays, and personal interactions. Touring and interactions with people will provide a rich cultural experience of the society in both southern and northern India. The program will include cross country train trips, visits to churches, temples, ancient ruins of forts, and other important historical landmarks such as the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. The group will gain an understanding and an appreciation of the nature of computing in the context of Indian society. |
