Courtney Well, we got off of the 24-hour bus trip to warm Adelaide weather, (41 degrees Celsius) and our host families! On our bus trip we saw kangaroos. Our group couldn't have been happier to see air conditioning and our host families. At times I feel homesick and lonely but then we go and do something else and it takes my mind off of the feeling. Our host family, the Dodsworths, have a lot planned for us to show us as much of Adelaide as possible. I am so excited to learn more about this beautiful country and its culture -- my new Australian phrasebook should help me understand more of the culture. (Thank you to my host family for the gift which will enhance my learning!) I still find it amazing how much I have learned that I cannot pinpoint yet. I am letting the experience soak in for now. I have already learned a lot from our different visits and speakers. Being immersed in the culture itself has taught me a lot about myself and my values. I have found the way of business to be very interesting; I wonder how rich I would be if I made the same minimum wage Australians make working the same amount of hours. I wonder... but then I would have to pay more taxes and then I would have a longer paid holiday. I think I will have to move here to find out.
