Garrett Greetings from Adelaide! Today, our first full day in the beautiful city of Adelaide, turned out to be a nice mix of learning and relaxing. The temperature calmed down to about 85 degrees from yesterday's blistering 100-plus and the skies remained clear. Each of us made our way from our respective host family homes to the Flinders Street Baptist Church this morning. After a short meeting we set off for Adelaide Central Plaza, where we met with Alicia, the marketing director for the Plaza. Alicia showed us around the Plaza and explained what exactly she does. Her main function is to increase brand awareness and the market presence of the Plaza by planning out the yearly marketing schedule and working with stores that may need help. Putting the right tenant in the right location, surrounded by the right mix of stores, is very important. After meeting with the marketing director, we headed out to Glenelg Beach. The locals call it "heading to the bay," although there is no "bay" to speak of. We rode a tram from Victoria Square, in the middle of Adelaide, to "the bay." Glenelg is another very beautiful beach like Manly, and although the surf is milder, the water is much warmer. The girls did a lot of sunbathing while the boys explored the beach. Matt and Joe were feeling particularly adventurous and went for a ride on a camel (definitely took pictures of that)! At about 5 o'clock we headed back into Adelaide and split off for dinner with our host families. All in all it was another beaut' of a day Down Under!
