Jenille Today is Friday here in Australia. Our day started off as a free morning here in Adelaide. We could do what we wanted in groups until 3:30 p.m. Most of us went to the local mall, called Rundle Mall, and hung out and did some shopping. That is what Courtney and I did. We walked among the various shops and got a few items, but mainly just walked around that downtown area. At 3:30 p.m., we caught a bus that took us to the train station. We then caught the 5 p.m. train for Alice Springs. It was a 20-hour train ride. Sounds awful but by now we are plenty used to being on buses for long periods of time, and due to the more spacious areas on the train, we were happy to be traveling that way! Most of us read and slept a lot to help pass the time. A day later we arrived in Alice Springs at about noon on Saturday. As I start to reflect back on the time we have spent in Australia, I have had a great time, and I know everyone else has too. I loved Sydney and Adelaide was also great. I know that we have all had a great experience so far and we are all looking forward to our last week as well. We will be in Alice Springs for about three days, then we fly to Cairns (pronounced "Cans") for two and a half days and then we fly back to Seattle. On the other side of it, it seems that we are all a little homesick and can't wait to come home to be with our family and friends again.
