G'day mate or G'night:
Well, no worries mate, we're here in Cairns and it is awesome. A little
bit humid -- OK a lot humid. This is probably the only place where it
can rain inside. It is currently drizzling in our room a little, but this
is definitely the nicest place we have stayed yet. It is called Gilligan's
Backpackers, and it is the largest Backpackers in Cairns. The pool even
has a waterfall.
The last time you heard from me it was the first day and now I have officially traveled Australia. We have seen large cosmopolitan cities, like Sydney; smaller friendlier cities such as Adelaide; slow desert towns, like Alice Springs; and amazing beaches and tropical paradises. My favorite so far has been our trip to Kangaroo Island.
Today we gave our presentations in Alice Springs before we left for Cairns.
They were interesting and we learned about aboriginal culture and what
business is like between the aboriginals and the retail-art industry in
Alice Springs.
Alice Springs was very hot, about 106 to 110 degrees, and I learned that
Australia has more ants and flies than anywhere else in the world. Well
I'm glad to be in Cairns, as is everyone else. We are having a great time
enjoying the rest of the travelers here and we will be going to the Great
Barrier Reef tomorrow.
