Jamie 'Ello! We are all having a great time Down Under. You know how you always anticipate a certain number of mishaps on a trip? Well, I think I have had my fair share already. First, the airport had "internal problems" with my visa or passport. Although not my fault, I apparently could not board the plane without being "authorized" by the computer...luckily, the lady at the front desk had it all cleared, and I was able to board the plane to San Francisco; excellent start to the trip. Next, we went through security and they confiscated my "travel kit" items which included nail clippers as well as files. I was able finally to board the plane, as well as make it safely to Sydney. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of my mishaps. Our first early morning in Australia, I attempted to straighten my hair, but the hair-straightener obviously had other plans...because of the inconsistency of the plug-ins and the use of an adapter, my hair-straightener ended up melting. Sydney is amazing and truly is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We have gotten to see so many sites as well as learn about the history and culture, and how business plays a role in all these things. Our group has had the chance to be (at times very obvious) tourists, but also we have had the chance to experience the life that the Aussies lead here in this metropolitan city. Homesickness has not hit me quite yet, but getting in touch with people back home is very comforting. The other travelers in this group have been fun to hang out with as well as get to know. They have kept me grounded and are a little piece of home. The sunshine is so amazing and we have had a great time basking in it. Although, today, it did rain, very hard actually; this put a damper on our hopes of lying on the beach all day. Even so, a group of us went to Chinatown and a Japanese Garden and then Darling Harbor.
