Lara G'day mate! This morning we got a taste of Australian church by attending the Wesley International Congregation. The church service was very much like those in the states -- except the accents of course! Only about 5 percent of Australians go to church, but those that were there had a great time. I was a bit surprised to see that there were very few Australians there and instead the congregation was made up of a mix of different cultures, especially Asians. I really enjoyed the worship and the message, and I hope we will be visiting other churches here before going home. Following church and a quick lunch, we grabbed a bus to The Rocks, where there is a weekend market by the harbor. This is a unique market because everything is handmade by the sellers and sold at a great price. You can pretty much find anything here, from paintings made for you to jewelry, woodwork and homemade fudge. Next, we took the Manly Ferry which gave us a great view of the Sydney Harbour and the Opera House. It's like a tropical paradise here with incredible sights to see everywhere you look. Cameras flashed over and over again as we rode the ferry by the Opera House. After a beautiful 30-minute ride, we arrived in Manly, the perfect tourist destination. One step off the ferry leads to a wonderful little street lined with shops and restaurants with the beach at the end of it. Listening to the waves crashing on the shore, we spent the rest of the afternoon lounging on the picturesque Manly Beach. Before catching the ferry once again, we ate dinner at a lovely restaurant right along the beach. The return trip was even more breathtaking as we were able to see the Opera House with the skyline in the background. I don't think I would ever tire of seeing that!
