Bradley We spent a portion of our day at a ritzy Martin Luther King, Jr., banquet with the false appearance of a just society yet those serving us were black and you could sense the oppression in their spirit. Through the window we could see the flag of the state of Mississippi which contains a Confederate flag in the upper left corner. I really don't care who you are, that's a symbol of oppression, white supremacy and an attitude that blacks don't count for more than a small percentage of a whole individual. It is ironic that on this specific day we are in a state that did not acknowledge the equality of the African American until 1970. The racial tension is so thick here that you could cut it with a knife. Make no mistake racism is alive and well. If you are a Christian, you have a responsibility to pray for the justice and equal treatment of these beautiful people. If you are a citizen of the United States you have a responsibility to vote in favor of your Constitution which says all men are created equally with the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If this sounds hostile that is good because we have ignored this disgusting situation far too long. It is time to take a stand against the injustice, that must take place where you live. Jesus tells us to love our enemies and to help the poor, not only those poor financially, but those poor in spirit. Love your neighbor, treat others with respect, and don't change who you are because of the color of a person's skin. Just love as Christ loves you, forgive as Christ forgave you, and sacrifice as Christ sacrificed his life for you. In Christ, Bradley
