Aloha once again from Hawai’i. What an amazing journey we have been on for the past three weeks. Our final stop on the academic journey was to the place of refuge also known as Pu’uhona o Honaunan. Here we learned about the Hawaiian culture and got to see and experience a place that is very special to the culture. Our last academic adventure is the final exam and then we can relax for a day before venturing back to the cold in Spokane. We have experienced many of God’s amazing creations here and all learned a lot from going to many awesome places. This trip was made even more amazing because of one student in particular. This Hawaiian native showed us sides of the island that many wouldn’t get to experience, and taught us things many don’t get to know. Kaleo has been an immeasurable asset to this trip. This is why he is the last person to be featured in the Hawai’i blog. Kaleo enjoyed the astronomical phase of the education and the guest lecture the class was given at the Canada-France-Hawai’i headquarters. His favorite location to visit was greensand beach. As a graduating senior from ‘Oahu Hawaii he plans on pursuing a career in law enforcement and hopes to become a member of a S.W.A.T. team. What Kaleo loved most about this trip was the camaraderie that we all had. Hillman’s Hawaiian Posse
