Kent Arrived in Seattle a little late but in plenty of time for our next flight. We were a little worried when two of the students weren't at the gate. The flight was oversold and the person at the counter was looking for volunteers to give up their seats. We thought that the two students that were not there might end up missing their flight. But all was well. One of the students could not make it because of mechanical failure on the plane she was booked on and will arrive in Chennai 6 hours before the rest of us. Boarding the China Airlines flight was a cultural experience in itself! The flight attendant at the gate kept yelling "form two lines!" and nobody listened. It was fun watching the news from Taipei! There were politicians, rock stars, toenails, helicopters, reconstructive surgery and finacial gurus. We arrived in Taipei 30 minutes later than scheduled. We left Seattle 1 hour and 15 minutes late 1:55 am. The trip was fairly uneventfull except for small children throwing up, and kicking the backs of seats - all part of a good international travel experience. The plane was an airbus A320 and had lcd panels in the back of each seat - large selection of games, movies etc. It was fun snapping photos of the students half awake in their seats. All were in good spirits and excited about the trip. Here at Taipei we took the "sky train" to terminal A8 where we will catch our next flight to Kuala Lumpur.
