Thailand Study Program: Globalizing Faith, Business, Education and Gender

This online travelogue offers student reflections and photographs of the Thailand Studies Program, one of Whitworth's many innovative, interdisciplinary Jan-term off-campus study programs. Led by a team of Business, Education and English/Women's Studies professors, students are exploring globalizing influences on Thai economics, education, religion and gender roles. Throughout their travels to Bangkok, the hill tribe villages surrounding Chiang Mai and the island of Koh Samui, students are studying contemporary and classical Thai culture, engaging in intercultural and interfaith dialogues and acting as participant-observers in internships and service-learning opportunities. Several times a week, students are submitting to this online travelogue images and insights from their discoveries about Thai culture and about themselves.
