Tory Bray, '13

Major: Business & Economics

Current Position: Bray works as a full-time staff accountant for First and Goal, Inc., in Seattle. FGI is closely affiliated with the Seattle Seahawks and Sounders FC. He works on events that take place at Century Link Field, ranging from large stadium events like boat shows, Microsoft Tech Ready, and Supercross competitions, to smaller events such as suite meetings and training camps.

Why Whitworth? "The small class sizes and personal interactions with classmates and professors are what drew me to Whitworth. The campus is beautiful, which was also a big reason why I felt so compelled to attend Whitworth."

Whitworth Activities: "While there, I enjoyed four years of intramural sports and the many athletics events on campus. All of our athletics teams are so good, it's easy to attend events and celebrate with the team after we win."

Influential Whitworth Professor: "The most influential professor that I had was John Hengesh, director of graduate studies in business. His teaching about strategic management in business is foundational to my thinking and working at my present job. He pushed us to understand how a company becomes successful and how to maintain that success over time."

Quote: "My four years at Whitworth were the best four years of my life. Graduating was bittersweet, but it feels even better to have a start on a great career."

Influential Whitworth Experience "I had a great experience during my senior year working with the sports information team, updating live stats for Whitworth Athletics. This opportunity helped me to manage my time and learn several important skills that correlate to my new career."

Career Goals: "I hope to advance in my present field by working toward my CPA."
