Philosophy and theology probe the nature of the human race and the ways in which people seek to understand themselves and the world. Students in these disciplines develop the intellectual flexibility and strong reasoning skills that are essential in a wide range of fields including business, publishing, social services, politics and diplomacy. The bachelor's degree in philosophy is an excellent foundation for advanced study in education, library science, law, business administration, medicine, urban planning and theology. Whitworth's theology program, with more graduates at Princeton Theological seminary than any other undergraduate institution in the U.S., has proven to be very helpful for students planning to enter seminary.
