Seeley G. Mudd Chapel was built in 1979 with funds donated by the Seeley G. Mudd Foundation in recognition of Whitworth's commitment to the integration of faith and learning. The chapel is home to Midweek Worship, Hosanna, and special services events organized by the university and community. It also houses the Whitworth Theology & Philosophy Department.
