Adam NeederAdam Neder
(2004-present)
Assistant Professor of Theology

Our third year in Spokane was both full and excellent. Janet enjoys working at Colbert Presbyterian Church as the director of children's ministry. Our daughters, Mary and Claire, love school, soccer, reading and ping-pong (we purchased a new table, and we play nightly). I continue to be grateful for the gift of teaching and the blessing of relationships with so many people here at Whitworth.

This year I taught a new course, Theology and Film, during Jan Term. It was exciting and well-received, and I look forward to teaching it again next January. Next fall, when Jim transitions into the Bruner-Welch Chair, I'll begin teaching the World Religions course, so I'll plan that course this summer. I will also make the final revisions to my book on Karl Barth, and I've agreed to write a couple of articles for forthcoming books.

When I was at seminary, I was amused by the Whitworth alumni who would talk about the college in what seemed to me to be exaggerated hyperbole. But having been here for a few years, I now find myself describing Whitworth in exactly the same way! This college has a way of getting under your skin and turning you into its cheerleader. I could hardly be happier to be part of this extraordinary community.
