Roger MohrlangRoger Mohrlang
(1978-present)
Professor of Theology

My 29th year at Whitworth was a great one. I love all my classes (New Testament, Old Testament, Paul's Letters, New Testament Greek I & II, and The Global Christian Movement), and I love the growing numbers of bright, highly motivated students in them. What a blessed life!

Last summer, Dottie and I were invited to teach church leaders and evangelists in Hyderabad, India. This summer I shall be in Cameroon, teaching an exegetical/translation workshop on Paul's Letters for Bible- translation consultants working in West and Central Africa. This will be my first trip back to West Africa since completing the Kamwe New Testament in 1974, and I'm greatly looking forward to it. Dottie will stay here with her 94-year-old mom.

This was a difficult winter for my dear wife: she took two spills, breaking three bones--her pelvis, elbow, and shoulder! Through it we experienced the incredible love of the Body of Christ, as dear friends at church and Whitworth took such good care of us. Now Dottie is back to full energy, as ornery as ever. She continues to enjoy mentoring students and working with the certification for ministry interns.

Our son, Mark, is newly married to a first-rate Christian girl who is as committed to serving Christ as he is. Our daughter, Becky, is enjoying a two-year stint teaching at an international school in China. We are so grateful for their love of Christ.

Next spring I hope to be writing a book on Paul during my sabbatical leave. One month ago, my long-awaited commentary on Romans (Cornerstone Biblical Commentary) came off the press.

May God give us hearts full of love and joy as we rise to serve Christ each new day – and may we serve him well! Do keep in touch.
