Application Process

Athletic Training is a limited-enrollment major. Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria:

  1. Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.

  2. Current enrollment in or completion of AT 270 Emergency Response and AT 271 Introduction to Athletic Training with a grade of "B" or higher in each course.

  3. Quality of formal application.

  4. Quality of two letters of recommendation.

  5. Interview (if necessary).

  6. Commitment of three years to the 1200 hour clinical experience component of the program.

  7. Primary focus in Athletic Training and Athletic Training/Education(students with an interest in athletic training will be given a higher priority than those pursuing other academic interests).

  8. Athletic participation (participation in only one sport is allowed; a limited number of athletes may be accepted).

  9. The program's ability to meet the student's needs.

  10. Professionalism (ability to work effectively with others, maturity, emotional stability, leadership, work ethic, etc.).
