Application Process
Athletic Training is a limited-enrollment
major. Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Current enrollment in or completion of AT 270 Emergency Response
and AT 271 Introduction to Athletic Training with a grade of "B"
or higher in each course.
- Quality of formal application.
- Quality of two letters of recommendation.
- Interview (if necessary).
- Commitment of three years to the 1200 hour clinical experience component
of the program.
- Primary focus in Athletic Training and Athletic Training/Education(students
with an interest in athletic training will be given a higher priority
than those pursuing other academic interests).
- Athletic participation (participation in only one sport is allowed;
a limited number of athletes may be accepted).
- The program's ability to meet the student's needs.
- Professionalism (ability to work effectively with others, maturity,
emotional stability, leadership, work ethic, etc.).
