Burton/Jump Athletic Training Book Scholarship

Background:
Tyson Burton, Whitworth Class of 2001, established this scholarship to honor his mother, Christina Lynn Burton, and his grandmother, Elsie Lucille Jump.  Tyson received a B.A. from Whitworth in sports medicine and secondary education. Scholarship funds must be used for approved educational expenses, such as the purchase of books.

Amount:
Approximately $300-500.  The exact amount may vary annually based on fund availability.

Criteria:

  • GPA: 3.0 or higher
  • Class Standing: Students should apply for the award in the year preceding their junior or senior year/
  • Major Requirement: Student must be a major in athletic training or athletic training and education.
  • Financial Need: Financial need must be demonstrated as determined by the Whitworth Financial Aid Office.

Application Process
Students must complete the Whitworth scholarship application.

Selection Process
Students completing the Whitworth scholarship application will be selected based upon demonstrated financial need, completed application, and GPA.
