Recommended Majors
Students may use any major to prepare for
graduate study of Physical Therapy, as long as they complete the particular
prerequisite classes for the programs to which they intend to apply. Students
should be aware that successful applicants to Physical Therapy schools
need GPAs above 3.0 in their prerequisite courses and overall, excellent
writing and interpersonal skills, and significant volunteer experience
in physical therapy settings. Therefore, students with weak writing skills
should plan to supplement the one or two writing classes. Students with
poorly developed people skills should budget time for courses or activities
to help in that area. All students need to plan time for the volunteer/internship
placements necessary to accumulate the required practical exposure to
the field. |
