Objectives and Benchmarks

Goal:  Enhance the institution's culture of service

Objectives: 

  1. Develop service-learning opportunities with an international focus.
  2. Build service-learning opportunities that focus on poverty relief.
  3. Increase involvement in Bonner Leader's Program and enhance the Bonner students' training.
  4. Continue as leading participating division in Community-Building Day.
  5. Offer faculty development programs on the connection between service and calling.
  6. Build reflection regarding the connection between service-learning and  vocation into service-learning programs.
  7. Include service opportunities at each site identified as a focus location for overseas study.

Benchmarks:

  • Service opportunities will be available at each site identified as a focus location for overseas study.
  • Five percent of service-learning opportunities will have an international focus.
  • Eighty percent of regional service-learning opportunities will have poverty relief as their focus.
  • There will be a minimum of 40 students enrolled in the Bonner Leader's program.
  • There will be four one-credit courses offered to Bonner students.
  • Online faculty-development training will be offered on the connection between service and calling.
  • Reflection on vocation will be incorporated into service-learning student evaluation.
