Amendments to the Faculty Handbook may be proposed by the Department Chairs Group and the standing committees. An amendment passes with a simple majority of the entire voting membership of the Faculty Assembly. Amendments to the Handbook must be ratified by the Cabinet and the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees and take effect with the date of the committee action. Amendments initiated by the administration or Board of Trustees will not be enacted without prior consultation with the Faculty Assembly.
