  • Grant Highlight: Initiative Grants for Networking Christian Scholars
    This program has been re-designed. The purspos is to enable smal lgroups of Christain schoalrs to network in ways that will lead to individual and collaborative schoalrship on focused themes of keen interest to the larger academy.
    The new program will provide up to four 1-year Scholarly Planning Grants of $2500 each to teams wising to plan projects - providing a time for scholars to come together to design and develop grant proposals for a project relevant to Christian Higher Education.
    The new program will also provide up to two 3-year Initiative Grants of $18,000 each to implement projects. This will allow schoalrs to meet, share research, critique each other's work and plan future individual or collaborative research projects related to a common theme.

  • Fulbright Hays Faculty Research Abroad
    This is an opportunity for faculty to engage in research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies. This year, Fulbright will consider only applications that focus on one or more of the following geographic areas: Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, South Asia, the Near East, East Central Europe and Eurasia, and the Western Hemisphere, excluding the U.S. and its territories). Applications that focus on Western Europe are not eligible. They are also particularly interested in projects that utilize one or more of the following critical languages: Arabic, Chinese, Japanese,Korean, Russian, and the Indic, Iranian, and Turkic language families.

  • Grawemeyer Award in Religion from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary
    Entries are sought for ideas on issues including, but not limited to, the experience of divne or ultimate reality; meaning and purpose of human existence; authority and freedom in religious understanding; pluralism and religious truth; evil; suffereing and death; compassion, joy and hope; religion and science; divine involvement in human history; and practices of faith and spirituality. Any work (book, address, essay, etc.) presented or published in the eight years precediing the year of the award is eligible.

  • Alexander von Humboldt, Transatlantic Cooperation in Research (TransCoop)
    Will fund up to half of the cost of a new collaborative project, such as a joint study, critical edition or seed money for an international conference, up to a mzx of EUR 45.000 over three years. Applications must be submitted jointly by at least one German and one U.S. scholars. US funds must cover the balance.
    Deadlines: April 30, October 31.

  • Louisville Institute, Christian Faith and Life Sabbatical Grants
    Projects that will advance the ethical, liturgical, and doctrinal wisdom of the Christian faith into closer relation to the daily lives of practicing Christians and describe more fully how the Christian fiath is actually lived by contemporary Christians of various ages, circumstances and traditions.

  • Louisville Insititute Summer Stipends

  • Stanford Humaniteis Center External Faculty Fellowships
    Stipends of up to $60,000 and housing and moving allowance of up to $15,000. Applicant should be at least three years beyond receipt of Ph.D. at the start of the fellowship year. There are both junior and senior fellowships for more established scholars. There are no citizenship requirements.

  • AAUW Community Action Grants

One-year grants ($2,000-$7,000) provde seed money for new projects. Topic areas are not restricted, but should include a clearly defined activity that promotes education and equity for women and girls.

Two-year grants ($5,000-$10,000) provide startup funds for longer-term programs that address the particular needs of the community and develop girls' sense of efficacy through leadership or advocacy opportunities. Topic areas are unrestricted, but should include a clearly defined activity that promotes education and equity for women and girls.
Grant projects muct have direct public impact.
