Whitworth Prospective Freshman Admissions
Our primary goal in the admissions process is to identify students who demonstrate the academic promise and personal traits to succeed at Whitworth University. The admissions committee considers high school grade point average, SAT/ACT scores (if submitted), class rank and high school curriculum, the reputation of the applicant's high school, participation in extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership, and the quality of each student's written application and personal statement. Information about application deadlines can be found on the dates and deadlines page.
Freshman applicants must submit:
-
The Whitworth application for admission (available online) and personal statement. The Universal Application is also accepted, but additional information will be required.
-
The Whitworth academic recommendation form (PDF), to be filled out by an academic counselor/advisor.
-
An official high school transcript.
- Test scores (SAT I or ACT). Applicants can choose whether to submit SAT I or ACT test scores with their admissions applications. Students must submit test scores to qualify for most academic scholarships and for registration and placement. For a fuller explanation of Whitworth's SAT/ACT-optional admissions policy, click here.
Whitworth University admits academically qualified students without regard to age, race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, or disability. |
