Whitworth Prospective Freshman Admissions
Our primary goal in the admissions process is to identify students who demonstrate the academic promise and personal traits to succeed at Whitworth University.
- High school grade point average
- SAT/ACT scores considered for awarding academic scholarships but not required for admission. Please see SAT/ACT-optional policy for details.
- Rigorous college preparatory coursework
- The reputation of the applicant's high school
- Participation in extracurricular activities
- Demonstrated leadership
- The quality of each student's written application and personal statement

Freshman applicants must submit:

The Whitworth application for admission. The Universal College Application is also accepted, but additional information will be required.

The Whitworth academic recommendation form (PDF), to be filled out by an academic counselor/advisor.

An official high school transcript.
- Test scores (SAT I or ACT). Applicants can choose whether to submit SAT I or ACT test scores with their admissions applications. Students must submit test scores to qualify for most academic scholarships and for registration and placement. For a fuller explanation of Whitworth's SAT/ACT-optional admissions policy, click here.
