International Accident & Sickness Insurance
Summary 2009-10
Because our institution is concerned with the promotion
of good health among our students as well as adequate medical health
coverage in case of an unexpected accident or illness, we require all
our international students to have our health insurance coverage. Coverage is not waivable.
The mandatory International Insurance
Plan provides the following key benefits:
The plan provides a $50,000 Aggregate Accident & Sickness Benefit
Limit with $5,000 in basic benefits paid at 100 percent and $50,000 in major
medical benefits paid at 80 percent. There is a $25 deductible per visit. The medical limits provided meet the USIA
requirements. Global medical assistance services are provided through
Assist America for medical evacuation and repatriation. $2,500 AD &
D benefits are provided.
The coverage under this plan is active for currently enrolled international
students while they are in the United States. The cost for this plan is
$659 per academic year plus any applicable student fees.
Please refer to your student brochure for a detailed
explanation of these coverages. Current brochures will be available in
the Student Accounting Services Office in McEachran Hall in August.
Intercollegiate athletes are covered at no cost to them up to $25,000
for accidents incurred during supervised practice or play. Additional
information on this coverage is available through the Whitworth Athletics Department.
