A number of cars and vans are available for you to
use on official university business. To reserve a vehicle, submit a request
form (available from the Whitworth Facilities Services Office), signed by your
department
head. Requests must be made in writing.
| A. Short-term use (any
period of six hours or less for which a vehicle is signed out) |

$5 per hour or part thereof, inclusive of all costs,
including fuel and mileage. |

Minivan |
$10 per hour or part thereof, inclusive of all costs, including
fuel and mileage. |

10-Passenger |
$13 per hour or part thereof, inclusive of all costs, including
fuel and mileage. |

13-Passenger |
$15 per hour or part thereof, inclusive of all costs, including
fuel and mileage. |
| B. Long-term/distance use (any
period exceeding six hours for which a vehicle is signed out) |
| |
Cars |
$25 per day or over 4 hours, plus fuel. |
| |
Minivan |
$50 per day or over 4 hours, plus fuel. |
| |
10-Passenger |
$70 per day or over 4 hours, plus fuel. |
| |
13-Passenger |
$75 per day or over 4 hours, plus fuel. |
| C. Reservation and Billing Policies: |
- Reservations must be made and confirmed in writing.
- Requests for reservations of vehicles will be honored on a
first-come, first-served basis.
- Billing amounts will be based upon the hours/days for which
the vehicle has been reserved and signed out.
- Credit for early return of a vehicle will not exceed the rate
for one hour's use of that vehicle.
- Late return of a vehicle will result in double charge for each
hour/day or portion thereof beyond the time for which the vehicle
was signed out.

| D. Cancellation Policy: |
| Users are asked to cancel motor pool reservations
a minimum of two days before the scheduled pick-up/departure time.
Reservations that are not canceled or that are cancelled after the
two-day advance deadline will incur a cancellation fee of $10. |
| E. Licensing Requirements: |
- Any person (faculty, staff, student worker or university guest)
intending to drive a university vehicle must have a valid driver's
license and must meet the requirements of the university's
insurance company. Verification of this compliance must be on
file with the Facilities Services Office before anyone will be
allowed
to drive a university vehicle.
Please note: If the driver has more than two accidents or moving
violations on his/her record in the last three years, he or she
is not eligible to drive a university-owned vehicle.
- 15-passenger vans may only be operated by drivers trained
and/or certified by Facilities Services in the safe operation
of large vans. Please
provide at least 15 days advance notice if van training is needed
before your reservation date.
