TEACH Grant Eligibility Form
The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant provides up to $4,000 per year in grants for graduate and undergraduate students who intend to teach full-time in high-need subject areas for at least four years at schools that serve students of low-income families.
It is important to note, however, that if a student accepts this grant and does not meet the above conditions, there are serious repercussions. If you receive a TEACH Grant and do not complete the four-year teaching obligation as specified by the grant within eight years of completing or ceasing your program of study, the grant converts to an Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, which means that you will need to repay the grant with interest, including the interest that has accrued from the time that the funds were originally disbursed.
Because of the serious consequences that result if a student receives a TEACH Grant and doesn't complete the teaching obligation, it is very important that students not apply for this grant unless they are certain that they will meet all the requirements and obligations that the grant requires.
If you are interested in the TEACH Grant and believe that you are a good candidate for the grant, please complete the following check list and submit it so that your eligibility for the TEACH Grant can be reviewed. We will then let you know how to proceed if it appears that you would be eligible for the grant. More detailed information regarding the TEACH Grant can be found at:
