Federal Pell Grant

  • Eligibility: Financial need as determined by federal formula, for highest-need students

  • Amount: $5730 maximum - 2014-15 academic year

  • Renewal: Based on annual review of need and federal laws

  • More Information: The amount of Federal Pell Grant funds a student may receive over his/her lifetime is limited by a new federal law to be the equivalent of 6 years of Pell Grant funding. Once a student reaches this limit, he/she will no longer be eligible to receive Pell Grant funds. Students can view their lifetime eligibility on the NSLDS website at www.nslds.gov .
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

  • Eligibility: Highest-need Pell grant recipients

  • Renewal: Based on annual review of need and federal regulations
Mazamas Research Grant Funding
  • Description: The Mazamas, a 3,000 member Oregon mountaineering organization headquartered in Portland OR, is soliciting research grant proposals from scientists and their graduate students. Our organization supports research projects in keeping with the Mazamas’ goals of conserving and increasing the understanding of mountain environments (particularly relating to the Pacific Northwest), and enhancing the enjoyment and safety of mountain recreation. The Committee evaluates each proposal and awards grants to selected applicants in the spring of each year.

  • Amount: $1,500-$3,500

  • Deadline: 1/28
