Diversity Scholarships
  • Description:

    Whitworth Graduate Studies in Education (GSE) sponsors scholarships for students who are admitted to the university and come from an underrepresented racial or ethnic population or who have lived in a culture outside their own where they experienced being in the significantly underrepresented population for more than a year, or who have a permanent disability. To apply for this scholarship, students should submit the GSE Diversity Scholarship Application to the Graduate Studies in Education office. The scholarship covers 25% of tuition costs for courses that are charged at the standard GSE rate and may not be used in conjunction with other Whitworth-sponsored aid.

The ELA Scholarship
  • Description:

    ELA Scholarships are available only to women graduate students with physical disabilities who are enrolled in a college or university in the United States.

    These scholarships are awarded on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis.


  • Eligibility:

    Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:



    (1) The student must be a woman with a physical disability.



    (2) The student must be currently accepted to a graduate program working towards a Masters degree or above in an accredited college or university in the United States.



    (3) The student must be active in a local, state, or national disability organization - either in person or electronically - which is providing services and/or advocacy for people with disabilities.



    (4) The student must be willing, as an ELA Scholar, to network with the ELA Board of Directors and previous ELA Scholarship recipients on our listserv. This will enhance the ELA Scholar's support base in professional and advocacy arenas.



    (5) The student must be willing, as an ELA Scholar, to update the ELA Foundation with an annual letter on September 1st of each year on her progress in her academic and/or working career.



  • Amount: 500-2000
Whitworth Graduate Student In Business(GSB) Academic Scholarship
  • Description: Whitworth Graduate Studies in Business (GSB) sponsors scholarships for students who are admitted to the university with a strong undergraduate record. Students entering with a minimum 3.75 undergraduate GPA and a GMAT score of 550 or higher are automatically eligible for up to a 20-percent tuition scholarship. In order to remain eligible for this scholarship, students are expected to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA during their graduate studies. To apply for this scholarship, students should submit a request to the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies in Business.

  • Eligibility: 3.75 Undergraduate GPA; 550 GMAT score

  • Application: Contact the Graduate Studies in Business office - (509)777-3222

  • Amount: up to a 20-percent tuition scholarship

  • Renewal: 3.0 or higher GPA in graduate studies
Whitworth University Masters in Teaching Scholarship
  • Description: Scholarships are awarded to students entering Whitworth University with a strong undergraduate academic record, and enrolled in the Master in Teaching program.

  • Eligibility: Must be enrolled as full-time student in the Master in Teaching program

  • Application: Apply through the Master in Teaching program office

  • Amount: $500 - $2000
