Regarding Wireless Access
Wireless connections will be available to students in residence-hall common rooms and in various locations around campus using the WhitStudent wireless network. Wireless routers and access points are prohibited in all residence-hall rooms and on the Whitworth University network. We do not guarantee wireless coverage in residence-hall rooms (all rooms have Ethernet plug-in ports available for network access); however, wireless access is available in all student lounges and in most study rooms. Any student found to be using a personal wireless access point in his/her room will have his/her network port shut down indefinitely. For instructions on connecting to the WhitStudent network, click here:WhitStudent. For additional documentation, click here:Help Desk Documentation.
Re; Student Connections Software
Upon arriving at Whitworth, students will find connection CDs available in their residence-hall lounges. These CDs will include the programs required to connect to the Whitworth University network.
Re: Cisco CleanAccess
CleanAccess is a computer-client agent that scans your system to ensure that it meets minimum Whitworth network requirements. If it finds that your computer does not meet these requirements, CleanAccess will place your system in a quarantined VLAN (a limited-access network area) until your system meets the minimum standards.
