Scholar and author George Marsden, Francis A. McAnaney Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame, recently spoke at Whitworth on "How ‘Otherworldly' Fundamentalism Became a Political Power." A renowned historian of American religion, Marsden is author of the book Jonathan Edwards: A Life (Yale, 2003), which won a Bancroft Prize in American history from Columbia University. His lecture was sponsored by Whitworth's Weyerhaeuser Center for Christian Faith & Learning.
