The following talking points are designed to communicate the major emphases in Whitworth's 2005-2010 strategic plan. (The full plan is posted on the Whitworth website at www.whitworth.edu/strategicplan.) The underlying theme of these points is integration; Whitworth wants the following relationships to be both descriptive of what the college has achieved and prescriptive of what Whitworth wants to embody more fully.
• Faith and learning
• Teaching and scholarship
• Academics and student life
• On- and off-campus learning
• Personal attention and intellectual rigor
• Beautiful campus and 21st-century technology
• Christian community shaped by truth and grace
• Openness to challenging questions and commitment to the pursuit of truth
• Investment in student success and promotion of student responsibility
• Living out of one's faith and engagement in the public square
• Construction of new academic facilities in arts and sciences
• Building of new residential and administrative space
• Strengthening of Whitworth students' intercultural understanding
• Enhancement of our service-learning, community-engagement, and vocational discernment
