Grammy-winning jazz trombonist Robin Eubanks recently performed in concert with the award-winning Whitworth Jazz Ensemble, directed by Professor of Music Dan Keberle. Eubanks joins a long line of top-flight jazz musicians – including Randy Brecker, Phil Woods, Steve Turre, Byron Stripling, Nicholas Payton and Bill Berry – who've been featured in Whitworth's fall
jazz concerts.
Eubanks has collaborated with the Rolling Stones, Art Blakey, Barbara Streisand and Talking Heads, among others, and has recorded a number of critically acclaimed albums with the Dave Holland Big Band. He and the jazz ensemble wowed a capacity crowd in Cowles Auditorium, wailing on jazz favorites including Apple Flambé and Hiya, Mama!
