1974 Gordon Van Wechel is working on community development and micro-enterprise projects. Most of his work is in Ghana and Uganda.

1975 Steven Olson is the senior pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, in Shelton, Wash. He also directs the Western States Servant Band, which he co-founded in 1992. His wife, Jill (Gambill) Olson, is the director of children's services for the Southeast Cluster of King County Libraries. Deborah (Snow) and her husband David Pascoe, '76, live in Sparks, Nev., where David is the pastor of belonging at Summit Christian Church. The couple recently returned from a short-term mission trip to Chile.

1979 Bonnie (Wells) Ranno, her husband, Anthony, and their three teenage children live in Sherwood, Ore., where Anthony is a pharmacist for Pfizer, Inc. Mary Sue Lindsay has spent the last 25 years working in the field of education. She currently resides in Los Angeles, where she is a high-school principal. Her daughter, Chelsea Fisher, '05, is a Whitworth graduate, and her youngest daughter, Lindsey Fisher, is a senior at Whitworth. Lindsay's parents, Jaye (Christensen, '49) and Benjamin Fairchild, '50, are also Whitworth graduates.

DEATHS

Rose Ragland, '73, died March 6. Lynn Behrendson, '75, has passed away. JoAnne Nixon, '79, died Dec. 5. A gifted watercolor artist, Nixon showed her paintings in national and international competitions throughout the United States. She was a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society, the Northwest Watercolor Society, and the National Watercolor Society. A number of her works were published in Northwest Artists. She is survived by her husband, a son and daughter, and two grandsons.
