Omache Field, a recreational and intramural sports field serving Whitworth's growing student body, was dedicated in October. At a ceremony recognizing lead donors John Scotford and Judy Scotford (left, with their son and current Whitworth trustee Steve Scotford), the field, in the southwest corner of campus at the intersection of Hawthorne Road and Waikiki, was dedicated in honor of the generations of Whitworth students and alumni from the Okanogan Valley, once known by the Okanogan Indians as Omache. Scotford, a 1951 alum and former trustee, and current Chairman of the Board Chuck Boppell, '64, are among many Whitworthians with ties to the valley. (Also in the photo at left, ASWU President Scott Donnell, '08, plays Frisbee with a friend.)
