"Whitworth is committed to my growth as a researcher and a Christian leader."

My favorite part of being faculty president is coming to know the many things that make the Whitworth faculty exceptional. The intellectual and spiritual integrity among them is something that I've almost become accustomed to; I sometimes forget that it's not like this everywhere.

One of the reasons Whitworth consistently attracts extraordinary faculty is the distinctive message of its mission. Whitworth is very serious about the faith commitment; however, it is also very open to inquiry. There is nothing really "off-limits" in terms of our academic rigor or our ability to study certain topics.

You don't learn to do faith-learning integration in the secular academy. Being at Whitworth, though, I've been provided opportunities for training in exactly that. Not only have my scholarship and conference travel been supported and subsidized by Whitworth; the university has also encouraged and financed my training as a Christian leader working in the classroom to integrate the faith and learning that is so central to Whitworth's mission.

Thank you for helping to provide Whitworth with the resources faculty need to develop our scholarship and honor our mission.
