"What we received at Whitworth compels
us to give back."

We met as students at Whitworth six years ago. As members of the same small campus ministry team, we became friends through spending time with our team. A relationship blossomed as we experienced Whitworth together, and we are now in our third year of marriage.

These days, we both love working for a nonprofit Christian organization, Partners International, based in Spokane. Our work feeds the love of missions that we developed at Whitworth, and allows us to express that love to others by encouraging involvement in missions around the world. On a daily basis, we are matching up our sense of calling with the education we received at Whitworth, and we feel blessed to be able to do that.

As students, we both worked hard to make Whitworth financially affordable – through focusing on our studies and working summer jobs, which allowed us to supplement the generous support of our parents. Scholarships played a key role for both of us, making it possible for us to graduate practically debt-free.

And now, as alumni, we feel it is important to help provide others with the same kinds of opportunities we’ve had. Our Whitworth educations were springboards into developing our passions and becoming equipped with the skills necessary to pursue them. We therefore want to give back and allow other students to have a meaningful experience at Whitworth, too.

Thank you for joining us in investing in new generations of Whitworth students as they seek to understand their calling.

When it comes to alumni participation, every gift makes a difference. Literally.
Although the majority of Whitworth students graduate with loans, the average debt load for Whitworth alumni is less than that of alumni from many of Whitworth's peer institutions; this has contributed to Whitworth's high rankings in both Kiplinger's and U.S. News & World Report's best-value rankings in recent years.

Alumni are among the most important players in Whitworth's continued excellence and in keeping costs down for current students. No matter the amount each alum is able to give to The Whitworth Fund each year, every single gift is important in meeting both the participation and financial goal.
